The Ritual of The Rock Candlestick
ALIGHIERIThe Ritual of the Rock Candlestick celebrates the magic of candlelit rituals: from lighting a candle at the end of the day, to laying the table for flickering soirées.
Taking inspiration from prehistoric rock formations, The Ritual of the Rock is created to be a grounding force, hand-crafted through the ancient practice of sand casting, in 24kt gold-plated brass.
The Ritual of The Rock Candlestick is designed to fit a 2mm tapered candle.
Dimensions: 8cm x 3.5cm x 2.8cm.
Wipe clean with a damp cloth.
Do not leave lit candles unattended. Do not burn the candle all the way down to the base; always leave 1cm of non-molten wax at the bottom.
Alighieri CASA has been hand crafted in collaboration with local artisans in Delhi, India, keeping the ancient craft of sand casting alive. They are brought to life in 100% recycled brass, with a 24kt gold-plating.
“The lighting of the candle is an incredibly spiritual practice for me; as a child, I saw my grandparents light a candle to begin an Indian prayer ceremony; when I’m at work, it signifies the beginning of a new piece of jewellery; and at the end of the day, it marks the close of a chapter. The Ritual of the Rock Candlestick sits on my dinner table, like a family of prehistoric rock totems ” - Rosh Mahtani, founder.
Alighieri is a collection of jewellery inspired by Dante Alighieri’s ‘Divine Comedy’; each piece corresponds to one of the poet’s 100 poems. Founded by Rosh Mahtani in 2014 with the intention of creating "Modern heirlooms that celebrate the beauty of human imperfection", every piece is handcrafted in London's Hatton Garden by a family-run business through the process of lost-wax casting.
