Alighieri's 'The Poet’s Lens Necklace' celebrates escapism in books and the childlike innocence of reading under the covers way past bedtime. Carry it to magnify a world of innocence and exploration.

“Ever since I was little, my books and stationary have been my friends. I was always fascinated by the objects I would find in libraries and the studies of my grandparents: from their favourite pencil tins, to mother of pearl magnifying glasses. Reading allowed me to see the world in focus, large and full of adventure. I created the Poet’s Lens to remind me of this feeling: I carry it around my neck as a little secret, a humorous nod to times gone by.” - Rosh Mahtani, founder.

The Poet’s Lens is cast in recycled bronze and plated in Alighieri’s signature 24kt gold-plating in the UK and features an optical magnifying lens. It sits on a gold-filled chain that can be worn at three adjustable lengths - 16, 18 or 20 inches (40.64cm, 45.72cm and 50.8cm).

Dimensions: 5.2cm x 2.3cm.

Hand-crafted through the ancient craft of lost-wax casting, locally in London’s Hatton Garden. Please note, each pendant is completely unique, so they may vary in shape and size. Jewellery is non-refundable and cannot be exchanged.

CARE:

Do not to wear your Alighieri jewelry whilst showering, exercising or swimming. Avoid contact with oils, lotions or perfumes. Wipe clean with a soft cloth before putting it away in a cool dry place.

Alighieri is a collection of jewellery inspired by Dante Alighieri’s ‘Divine Comedy’; each piece corresponds to one of the poet’s 100 poems. Founded by Rosh Matani in 2014 with the intention of creating "Modern heirlooms that celebrate the beauty of human imperfection", every piece is handcrafted in London's Hatton Garden by a family-run business through the process of lost-wax casting.
