The Catch of the Day Necklace

Alighieri's 'The Catch of the Day Necklace' celebrates the magic of seaside adventures, and the beauty of a summer souvenir.

The molten, textured fish motif is cast in recycled bronze and plated in Alighieri’s signature 24kt gold-plating in the UK. It is threaded with a spiritual red Indian cotton string, to ground you on all your adventures. 

It belongs to 'Votive Offerings' collection, a collection of ritualistic objects, inspired by the spiritual practices of ancient and modern civilisations. “When I was a child, I would create my own summer souvenirs with strings and shells I found on the beach. I wanted to thread the fish motif through a spiritual red string as a nod to my innocent games" - Rosh Mahtani. 

The Catch of the Day Necklace sits on an Indian cotton thread - celebrated for its spiritual power. It is 60cm long, and can be knotted at a length of your choice. Each part of the string varies in tone. Please note that the red cord is dyed using natural dyes, and as such, some colour transfer may occur. We recommend avoiding contact with light coloured fabrics.

Hand-crafted through the ancient craft of lost-wax casting, locally in London’s Hatton Garden. Please note, each pendant is completely unique, so they may vary in shape and size.

CARE:

Do not to wear your Alighieri jewelry whilst showering, exercising or swimming. Avoid contact with oils, lotions or perfumes. Wipe clean with a soft cloth before putting it away in a cool dry place.

Alighieri is a collection of jewellery inspired by Dante Alighieri’s ‘Divine Comedy’; each piece corresponds to one of the poet’s 100 poems. Founded by Rosh Matani in 2014 with the intention of creating "Modern heirlooms that celebrate the beauty of human imperfection", every piece is handcrafted in London's Hatton Garden by a family-run business through the process of lost-wax casting.
